Where do BBs come from?

Centred around the video Kiss Cam, this installation contains a series of queer sculptures wrestling with the binary. In the video, each clip is sourced from found footage of couples kissing on the jumbo tron at various sporting events. The images have been cropped down to the mouths to add a sense of ambiguity to the footage, disguising its source as well as masking gender. The score’s repetitive pattern gives the impression of heavy breathing, which could be interpreted either as hyperventilating or panting, pain or pleasure.
